How tall is TV personality and former pro skater Rob Dyrdek? The skateboarding bug first bit Rob Dyrdek before he’d even hit his teens after fellow skater Neil Blender gifted him with a skateboard and by the tender age of 12 he had secured his first sponsorship. A few years later Dyrdek and Blender set up their own skateboarding company Alien Workshop and after moving to California, he nabbed another sponsorship with DC Shoes who he worked with until 2016.

Rob Dyrdek crossed over into television with the MTV reality show Rob & Big where he starred alongside his best friend and bodyguard, the late Christopher Boykin, which ran for three seasons between 2006 and 2008. The show chronicled their daily lives and saw Dyrdek set several skating-related Guinness World Records including the longest board slide on a skateboard (100 feet and 5.75 inches) and the most nollie kickflips in one minute (22).

One thing that really stood out on Rob & Big was the height difference between its two stars. That’s because while Christopher Boykin stood at a whopping six feet and six inches tall, Rob Dyrdek’s height is just five feet and seven inches tall according to website Famous Heights. Not that his slightly below average stature has hurt his skateboarding career at all. In fact, it’s probably helped as the shorter a skater is, the lower their center of gravity which means they’ve generally got better balance than taller skaters.

Dyrdek’s other skating-related achievements include setting up his own professional competition – Street League Skateboarding – in 2010 which has since gone international and featured in EA’s skateboarding video game series Skate. He’s established a successful TV career too, starring in another MTV reality show titled Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory and co-creating and presenting the comedy clip show Ridiculousness which is co-produced by his company Superjacket Productions. Dyrdek’s production company was also behind various Nickelodeon shows like Crashletes, Jagger Eaton’s Mega Life and the animated series Wild Grinders in which Dyrdek provided the voice of main character Lil Rob.

Wild Grinders isn’t Dyrdek’s only acting role either. He had a bit part as a skateboarding pimp in the Robert De Niro and Al Pacino-fronted crime thriller Righteous Kill and had a main role in the skateboarding drama Street Dreams, which he also co-wrote and produced. Up next, Rob Dyrdek will present the MTV reality game show Win Big and – of course – more episodes of Ridiculousness which is now in its sixteenth season.
