  • Will TikTok Ever Get Banned in America?

For many years now, social media platforms have been focusing on the wellbeing of their users, namely their mental health. These platforms have been known to partner with mental health organizations such as Mind and Mental Health America to encourage users to take better care of their overall health.

As TikTok continues to grow in popularity, the platform has pushed itself even further in order to become a safe place for users to interact with. The TikTok Wellness Hub has allowed a new wave of popular wellness influencers to advocate and provide more suitable mental health resources for a wide variety of their followers.

What is the TikTok Wellness Hub?

Back in April 2021, TikTok announced the first launch of its intuitive Wellness Hub, a platform where users could go to learn more about health and wellbeing. The platform is divided into four main sections: ‘Food and Nutrition’, ‘Fitness’, ‘Life Advice’ and ‘Mindfulness’. Essentially, the Wellness Hub works by allowing popular wellness influencers to create content surrounding these four core values. This platform also promotes a selection of featured creators, these are wellness influencers with a wealth of knowledge in these specific areas.

Moreover, the Wellness Hub also includes a plethora of videos and articles from institutions such as Headspace and Nike Coaching, offering users more information and guidance when it comes to their physical and mental health. Although the Wellness Hub may seem different from TikTok’s usual quirky and off-beat content, it proves that large social media platforms are truly listening to their audiences and providing more integral support.

Why did TikTok create the Wellness Hub?

The Wellness Hub was created in order to build a virtual space where users could come and gain advice and resources regarding their wellbeing. This new platform is purposely different from TikTok as it tries to be completely devoid of its typical content. Instead, the Wellness Hub focuses entirely on positive coping skills for mental health. It comes at a time when social media is being used every day, which in turn, has the ability to both boost and detriment our mental and physical health.

In fact, the Wellness Hub has seen great success in Singapore with TikTok stating that ‘The Hub is the latest in TikTok for Good’s broader efforts to create an online safe space where users can express their vulnerabilities freely, find communities of support and destigmatize mental health conversations.’

How to find the TikTok Wellness Hub

As mentioned previously, the Wellness Hub is separate from the actual TikTok app. This platform can be found online, using a website that hosts all of the featured and most popular wellness content. This website also shares links to crisis lines across the world, informative articles, and brand partners.

TikTok itself also promotes an array of wellness content under the hashtag #WellnessHub. This gives users access to a plethora of unique videos made by a wide selection of popular wellness influencers. As a result, this helps smaller influencers to share their tips and experiences with their mental health.
